Annie Bell Gross was born June 25, 1925 in Saluda, South Carolina to Clonzie and Oscar Jenkins Sr. She received her education in Saluda, SC. At an early age Annie moved to Washington DC. where she met and later married Cecil Gross.
Annie worked in domestic service for many years before joining the public school systems as a cook, retiring after twenty years. After which she devoted sixteen years to caring for the elderly in their homes.
She joined Bible Way Church in 1948 under the leadership of Elder Smallwood E. Williams. She was in the Young Adults and True Blue Fellowship Clubs. As a True Blue she worked untiringly on the Sick committee and in the church kitchen. Later she became a formal member of the kitchen staff as Cook working with Mother Nancy Ford.
Annie always had a smile and a pleasant conversation. She loved working with people. She was preceded in death by her Grand-daughter Cecilia Michelle Mason and by er siblings Sammy, Cellie Mae, Robert, Carrie, and Luther.
She is survived by her children: Willie Mack, Robert Matt (Carolyn), Betty Mae, Cecilia Diannie, Michael Louis, Oscar Samuel, Donna Alaine, Tracie Inez, and Richard Anthony. Grandchildren: James Oscar, Willie Melvin, Annfa Michelle, Shannon Melissa, Otis Jr., Robert Anthony Matt, Joseph Michel. Great-Grandchildren: Annfa Shannette Mercedes, Dianna Mercedez, Melvin Jalil, Robert Desmond, Dimitri, Melissa Marley. Great-Great Grand: Carter Anthony. Siblings: Evelyn, Oscar, Coley, Christine, Jean Doris, Bennie and a host of relatives and friends.
