Bettye Adamson Obituary

Bettye G. Adamson, entered into her Heavenly Home on November 22, 2021, born in Saluda SC to the late Nero Herbert and Annie J. Gaines.

At an early age Bettye joined Mt. Enon Baptist Church. She received her education in the public schools in Saluda County. graduating from Riverside High School she went on to earn several degrees in various fields as she furthered her education. Her adventurous spirit took her on many travels to places of interest.

Throughout her life-Pastor Bettye accomplished many milestones that made her an icon in her community. She was a model and instructor, a Be Unique Cosmetic agent and makeup artist, an insurance agent, a stylist and barber, an author and poet best known for her book "REAL FOOD FOR THE SOUL" and founder of "Women of Excellence", an outreach ministry.

The most important role Bettye held was being the loving wife of the Reverend James Adamson who she Honored in her book and as the Co-Pastor and first lady of Golden Rock Fellowship Church. Her wisdom and guidance will be greatly missed by all who she ministered as well as those who looked to her as being a true trailblazer in her community.

In addition to her parents, who preceded her in death is, Dorothy Gaines, Annie Brown, Johnny "J.C." Abney, John Wesley (Jack) Culbreath, Leroy Herbert.

Left to cherish precious memories are her husband Reverend James Adamson of the home, a stepdaughter Phyllis Adamson of Lugoff SC., one sister Barbra Gaines of Philadelphia, Pa. two brothers Robert Herbert ("Peanut") and Andrew Herbert (Bustard) of Waterbury, Cn. a sister Barbar Gaines of Philadelphia Pa., sister in-law Iola (Norman) Nelson of Lugoff,SC nieces, Charlean Gaine, Tara Gaines both of Saluda, SC nephews, Ricky Gaines of Saluda, SC and Kontay Gaines She wanted everyone to follow and fufill their dreams.
