Jesse Gene Coleman born on April 21, 1945 a son of the late George Frank (Annie Mae) Mathews and the late Ella Mae Coleman He departed this earthly live on December 5, 2024 "Head" as he was known by his family and friends was united to the late Reverend Wilhelmena Robinson-Coleman for (56 years) "Head" was a member of Young Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he served faithfully as a member and Deacon. He retired from West Electric Company' He received his education from Riverside High School in Saluda, SC, a graduate of the class of 1964 where he loved sports and played football and he was a outstanding fullback. "Head" loved his teams Clemson Tigers, Pittsburg Steelers, and Atlanta Braves.
"Head" has left to cherish precious memories, two sons, Jesse Eugene and Stanley Coleman both of Chappells, SC, two grand daughters, April Holmes of Johnston, SC, and Aniva Abercrombie of Ninety Six, SC, eight great- grandchildren. Siblings, Edna M. Coleman of Washington, DC, George W. Mathews of Maryland, Ella M. Lindsey of Washington, DC, Genelle Attaway of Texas, Nathaniel S. Mathews (Lillie Ruth) , Bennie K. Mathews, Lambert Kinard (Albert), Ronnie Mathews,, John O. Mathews, all of Saluda, SC, Tommie Garrett (Flint) of Irmo, SC, Alice Cannon of Leesville, SC, and Vanessa Mathews of Newberry, SC. Alberta Rolland, Rosa Rolland, Barbara Rolland, Ella Mae Rolland, Richard Rolland all of Brooklyn, NY a host of Uncles, Aunts, Nieces, Nephews, Sisters in-law, Brothers in-law many relatives and friends.
Other than his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his son, Anthony, brothers, Lafayette Mathews and Johnny Rolland, sisters, Winnie Abney, Gloria "Pam" Smith.
