Durrah Watt, Jr. departed this earthly life on April 26, 2026; he was born November 9, 1955, in Chappells, SC, to the late Durrah Watts, Sr., and the late Amie Johnson Watts. He was educated in the Greenwood County School System and graduated from Ninety Six High School in 1974. While still a student at Ninety Six High School he was entrusted with the enormous responsibility of transporting students of Greenwood County to and from school for two years as a Bus Driver.
Durrah continued this patriotic and civic minded spirit by serving in the United States Army.
Durrah's love and fascination with cars and trucks provided his family and friends an insight into his curious and meticulous inner soul. This intense interest was perhaps the catalyst for him becoming a truck driver. He drove for a number of trucking companies in surrounding counties until his retirement from the work he loved in 2025, culminating in a long career of serving others at the local and national levels. He enjoyed family gatherings, being in company of his friends, hunting, fishing, riding horses and watching old western movies. If you knew Durrah Jr., you knew he loved the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Durrah Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; William C. Watts and Charles L. Watts, two sisters; Virginia Watts Hill and Martha Watts.
Durrah Watts Jr. is survived by three children; one daughter, Trecee Y. Duncan of Greenwood, South Carolina; two sons, Manlius A. Duncan (Marie) of Winder, Georgia and Tigree J. Johnson of Lexington, South Carolina; five sisters, Josephine Watts and Amie Paulette Watts both of Ninety Six, South Carolina; Elease Watts Robinson (Roosevelt) of Greenwood, South Carolina; Hazel Watts and Valeria Watts Delaney (Lorenzo) both of Columbia, South Carolina; three grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; a host of relatives and friends who mourn his passing and will miss him dearly.
