Martika (Marti) D. Bigham, age 27, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 8th at Piedmont Medical in Rock Hill, SC. Martika was born at Mercy Maternity Center, was a graduate of Garinger High School (2008),  attended the University of North Carolina, and was employed as a mediator with Central Awareness. Martika valued involvement in the community. She was a regular voter, and worked with the YMCA and the Charlotte Coalition for Social Justice (CCSJ). A popular social media personality, she was followed by thousands. In addition to spending time with friends, Marti loved music. Her devotion to family extended to her many cousins across the country,  whom she cherished. Martika is survived by her parents, Henry and Florence Bigham, and her brother, Robert Bigham. Her memorial service will be held at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, Latin-Americam Sanctuary, Tuesday, September 19 at 11:00 am. Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 until 11:00.
