Robert Douglas Butler born in Saluda, SC to the late Fred and Minnie Lee Irvin-Butler entered into his Heavenly Home on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia, SC. A member of Mt. Enon Baptist Church at a early age, a graduated from Riverside High School and furthered his education at Benedict College, Columbia, SC. 'Doug' as he was called by friends served in the United States Army and retired from Saluda County National Guard he also retired from Monsanto in Greenwood, SC., He also was a Saluda Town Councilman (Ward 1) for nineteen years.

He loved his family and community. Doug loved to build things such as his customized VW and his extended go-carts and helping others in the community. He was United to Mary K. Butler (Fifty one years) and was blessed with three children.

He leaves to cherish his memories; his loving wife of the home, three daughters, Lakeisha (Tony) Swanson of Lithonia, Ga., Myranda Butler of Saluda, SC., and Ashley (Keith) Griffin of Lexington, SC., two granddaughters, Morgan and Kennedy, two grandsons, Brandon and James, a special niece, Alita Lisa (Keith) Mason of Fredericksburg, Va., a cousin who was like a brother, Robert 'Tiger' Irvin, three adopted daughters Denise Bates, Charisse Bates and Stacy Rector, adopted children Barrett and Peaches Minick, Eboni and Jalen Minick, adopted mother Eliza Werts, adopted sisters, Fannie (Tyrone) Pitts and Diane Werts, adopted brothers, Wallace (Bridget) Werts James (Miriam) Werts, Charles Werts. A host of nieces, nephews and cousins, two sisters, Vernelle Butler, and Laveda Brayboy and one brother, Warren Butler. He was preceded in death by two brothers Fred Jr. and Henry Butler.

Service for Robert Douglas Butler will be Friday at 11:00 am October 8,2021 at Rock Hill Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Burial will be at Little Angel's Memorial Park
