Sampson W. Denny Sr. was born in Batesburg SC, on December 12.1939 to the late Charles and Fannie Mae Abney-Denny, "Sonny" as he was called by his family and friends was raised in the home of Sally Margaret Denny. He entered into his Heavenly Home on July 30, 2022, in the city of Waterbury, CT he was a member of the Pentecostal Church of Prayer and Deliverance where he was Chairmen of Trustees, (over15 years) taught Adult Sunday School, member of the Senior Choir, and Usher Board, Sonny was a man who loved his family and prayed to and for them in hopes that each of them would enter the Heavenly Home. He was employed at General Electric (GE)over 15 Years where he retired, he loved to Bowl and was a member of a bowling league.

Sonny leaves to cherish loving memories to his wife, Zora Denny, children, April Caple, Pastor Sampson W. Denny III (Sheree), Solomon W. Denny (Camisha), Zaneta Murphy (Will), Tirus Smalls Denny, Mary Lee Whitt aka "Sara Ann" (Ricky), Fannie Mae Denny, Clifford Haltiwinger (Patsy), Margaret Ann Hernandez (Rubin), Priscilla Green Denny, Beverly Denny, Tanzania Spencer (Courtney), Sampson W. Brantley, Alexis Caples, Candice Caples, his sister, Delores Hines and brother, Charles Denny. a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He is preceded in death other than his parents, daughters, Alvertis Denny, and Robin Caples, sisters, Betty Ann Inabinett, Lorraine Denny, Charlie Mae Denny, and Mary L. Green, brothers David C. Denny, Seonia Denny.
